Countermagic Missile
Hits allies with missiles, when they take feedback damage enemies take damage and are ministunned. Reflects back any damage or ability that an ally may take during the duration. Cannot target self.

Anti Missile Field
enemies in the area take damage when they an ally in the radius is debuffed or disabled. When a ranged ability is used mini stuns and burns mana.

Animal War Training
Passively has animals circle Prelaunch as invulnerable allies, stitching the fabric of distance itself. He may teleport to on of the revolving creatures.

Imbued Gunpowder
An autocast stacking ability that lets Prelaunch fire heavy artillery projectiles which wrap him in magical thread, causing debuffed enemies’ attacks to slow drastically after striking allies while each hit extends their own debuff and disable durations, turning their effects back on themselves.

- Effect: Automatically locates surrounding allies and hits them with a missile
- Effect: Cannot target self
- Ally Protection: Provides a shield of reactive punishment for allies under attack.
- Damage Reflection: Converts enemy aggression into direct damage, disincentivizing over-aggression.
- Visual Feedback: Players can clearly see who is protected and when reflected damage occurs.
- Teamfight Control: Strong in clustered fights where enemies repeatedly target a specific ally.
- Cannot Target Self: Preborn cannot protect himself directly; requires positioning.
- Timing-Dependent: Effect only lasts for a few seconds — must predict enemy focus.
Counters
- Silencer: Attempting disables or spell spam triggers reflected mini-stuns and damage.
- Bloodseeker: Targeted Bloodrage or attacks are punished.
- Skywrath Mage: Mystic Flare and Arcane Bolt punished.
- Troll Warlord: Auto-attack spam triggers damage reflection and mini-stuns.
Enemies
- Storm Spirit / Ember Spirit: Mobility bypasses protected allies.
- Queen of Pain: Blink allows avoidance of missile or ally targeting.
- Anti-Mage: Spell Shield and mobility make targeting less effective.
- Invoker / AoE Burst: Timing of reflected damage less impactful against global or instant AoE.
Allies

- âś… Pros
Area Denial: Forces enemies to avoid fighting inside the field.
Team Protection: Defends allies indirectly — punishes disables and spam, discouraging chain stuns.
Synergy with Ally Aggression: Works best during team pushes or sieges; rewards positioning and teamwork.
Anti-Caster Utility: Mana burn and stuns make it difficult for spell-reliant enemies to operate.
Clear Counter Identity: Counters ranged abilities, global silences, or projectile heroes effectively.
❌ Cons
Positional: Enemies can simply fight outside the field.
Weak vs Mobility Heroes: Storm Spirit, Ember Spirit, and mobile blinkers can dash through unaffected.
Ineffective Against Instant AoE: Instant global abilities (Black Hole, Ravage, etc.) still trigger but only after initial damage is dealt.
Low Burst Impact: Relies on multiple triggers rather than one massive payoff.
Ally Reliance: Needs allies in the radius for maximum effect; not very strong when alone.
⚔️ Good Against
Hero
Why
Silencer
His disables and spells trigger repeated counter-stuns and mana burn.
Skywrath Mage
High spell frequency makes him damage himself via the field.
Pudge
Hook and Dismember cause self-punishment when targeting allies in the field.
Bloodseeker
Rupture or auto-attacking into the field triggers constant retaliation.
Drow Ranger / Sniper
Ranged projectiles and high attack frequency cause reflection burns and mini-stuns.
Troll Warlord
Auto-attacks and Berserker’s Rage trigger multiple stuns during his ultimate.
Spirit Breaker
Charge and bashes trigger multiple retaliations.
đźš« Bad Against
Hero
Why
Storm Spirit
Zips in and out of the field too fast for reaction triggers.
Anti-Mage
Spell Shield and Blink allow escape; mana burn synergy is diminished.
Invoker
AoE burst and delayed spells circumvent field triggers.
Sand King / Tidehunter
Large AoE disables still land their damage before punishment matters.
🤝 Works Well With
Hero
Why
Drow Ranger / Windranger / Sniper
Can fight safely behind the field; reflected ranged punishment protects them.
Oracle / Dazzle / Warlock
Field amplifies their sustain style; punishes enemies for trying to burst healers.
Lina / Snapfire / Marci
Casts create bait windows — enemies attempting to disable them trigger retaliation.
Broodmother / Weaver / Phantom Assassin
Agile heroes that benefit from Prelaunch’s zone control.
Phoenix / Io / Enchantress
Long cast-time or channel abilities become safer inside the field.
🧩 Item Synergies
Item
Effect
Aghanim’s Scepter
Expands radius or allows field to move with Preborn or ally target.
Octarine Core
Reduces cooldown; makes the field usable in nearly every fight.
Refresher Orb
Enables back-to-back zone setups.
Guardian Greaves / Lotus Orb
Synergizes with protection theme — stack layered defense with reflection punishment.
Force Staff / Blink Dagger
Allows Preborn to reposition field for maximum coverage.
Veil of Discord
Amplifies damage dealt when field triggers multiple times.
Glimmer Cape / Eul’s Scepter
Lets Preborn protect himself while maintaining the field.

- 🟢 Pros
High mobility: Lets the hero rapidly reposition for dodging skillshots or initiating from unexpected angles.
Invulnerable allies: The orbiting creatures can act as safe teleport anchors — impossible for enemies to kill or disable directly.
Map control: If the orbit radius can expand or persist after casting, the player can set up zones of influence or safe perimeters.
Combo setup: Can pair with AoE spells or counter abilities (like Counterspell Missile or Hazy Splice) for perfect positioning and escape.
đź”´ Cons
Limited offensive power: Offers mobility and defense, not direct damage.
Skill-dependent: Requires awareness and timing — poor use of the teleport can waste the advantage or strand the hero.
Countered by silences, roots, or instant disables: The teleport mechanic can be interrupted if it’s channel-based or costs mana.
Predictable pattern: If the animal orbit is visible, skilled opponents can predict where you’ll blink next and aim skillshots or traps accordingly.
No lane sustain: Offers no farming, healing, or waveclear benefit.
⚔️ Good Against
Skillshot-heavy heroes: Mirana, Pudge, Lina, Windranger, Leshrac — teleport mobility dodges all of them.
Heroes reliant on positioning traps: Clockwerk, Techies, Underlord — Animal War Training bypasses terrain and traps.
Single-target lockdowns: Lion, Shadow Shaman — can blink away before the disable connects.
đź’€ Bad Against
Instant disables: Doom, Legion Commander (Duel), Axe (Berserker’s Call).
Roots and silences: Treant Protector, Crystal Maiden, Bloodseeker — prevents teleport or causes mistimed movement.
Displacement abilities: Vacuum (Dark Seer), Vortex (Storm Spirit) — can pull the hero out of orbit range.
Vision-based heroes: Slardar, Riki, Night Stalker — if the animals reveal your location, you lose the surprise factor.
🤝 Works Well With
Io / Keeper of the Light / Oracle: Enhances mobility and save potential.
Nature’s Prophet / Pangolier / Storm Spirit: All benefit from or synergize with chaotic battlefield repositioning.
Phantom Assassin / Void Spirit: Enables high-risk/high-reward diving plays.
Disruptor: Forces enemies into your orbit, amplifying zone control.
đź’Ž Item Synergies
Blink Dagger / Overwhelming Blink: Stacks with Animal War Training for double mobility bursts.
Aether Lens / Octarine Core: Expands orbit radius and lowers teleport cooldown.
Eul’s Scepter: Provides safety if silenced before teleporting.
Lotus Orb: Combines with reflection mechanics — great with your theme of mirroring.
Linken’s Sphere: Protects from the single-target disables that stop teleporting.
Boots of Bearing / Phase Boots: Helps align movement speed and animal rotation radius.

- âś… Pros
High Scaling Power — The stacking mechanic rewards extended fights and sustained accuracy.
Anti-Counter Tool — Turns enemy crowd control and debuffs against them, discouraging aggression.
Strong Against Auto-Attackers — Debuffed enemies who continue attacking are heavily punished.
Protective Damage Reflection — Provides indirect team defense by punishing attacks on allies.
Synergistic with Other Control Abilities — Extending disables can chain with ally stuns and silences.
High Skill Expression — Requires precise autocast timing and positioning to maintain stacks and control reflections.
❌ Cons
Low Burst Damage — Power depends on stacking and enemy misplays rather than instant impact.
Ineffective vs. Spell-Immune Enemies — BKB or strong dispels reduce reflection and duration scaling.
Countered by Mobility — Blink, Manta Style, or slippery heroes can avoid artillery shots.
Requires Active Management — Players must toggle autocast carefully to prevent wasted shots.
Mana-Intensive — Sustaining projectile fire in long fights can tax mana pools.
Situational Impact — Less effective versus heroes with passive or AoE damage that doesn’t “target” allies directly.
🤝 Synergizes Well With
Ally Hero
Why
Oracle / Dazzle / Abaddon
Their sustain and saves allow Prelaunch to maintain stacks and bait disables.
Clockwerk / Disruptor / Magnus
Grouping enemies amplifies reflection and debuff duration stacking.
Phoenix / Snapfire / Gyrocopter
Long-range teamfight heroes who benefit from enemies being slowed and self-debuffed.
Viper / Venomancer / Shadow Demon
Their DoTs and control overlap perfectly with duration-extension mechanics.
⚔️ Strong Against
Enemy Hero
Reason
Drow Ranger / Sniper
Projectile reflection and attack slow punish ranged attacks.
Silencer
His disables backfire, reflecting silence onto himself.
Troll Warlord / Clinkz / Weaver
Auto-attack reliance and low durability make them vulnerable to slowdown stacking.
Skywrath Mage / Lina / Lion
They rely on high-frequency spellcasting that can be turned against them.
đź’€ Weak Against
Enemy Hero
Reason
Anti-Mage / Juggernaut
Spell immunity or mana burn reduces uptime of reflection effects.
Storm Spirit / Ember Spirit
Extreme mobility avoids projectiles and stacking mechanics.
Outworld Destroyer
Can imprison Prelaunch or allies to stop stacking progress.
Dispel-heavy heroes (Legion Commander, Oracle)
Can purge reflected or duration-extended debuffs.
đź’Ž Item Synergies
Item
Benefit
Aghanim’s Scepter
Could allow Imbued Gunpowder to splash or chain projectiles between enemies.
Octarine Core
Increases uptime on reflection stacking and autocast firing rate.
Shiva’s Guard
Synergizes with slowing theme, makes enemies even less able to escape stacking.
Lotus Orb
Doubles down on reflection theme; prevents enemy disables from landing.
Gleipnir / Scythe of Vyse
Keeps enemies locked long enough for Imbued Gunpowder stacks to snowball.
Linken’s Sphere
Protects Prelaunch while channeling or autocasting.
Bloodstone / Kaya & Sange
Boosts mana sustain and spell amplification for sustained pressure.
🧠Additional Explanations
Thematically: “Imbued Gunpowder” symbolizes spiritual munitions — each projectile weaves “threaded fate” between Prelaunch and his enemies.
Mechanically: It blends Broodmother’s precision with Anti-Mage’s reflection and Gyrocopter’s pressure.
Playstyle: Works best as a ranged tempo disruptor — not a nuker or tank, but a counter-artillery mage who wins through patience and escalation.
Counters Misplays: Enemies who don’t manage debuffs or retreat intelligently will find themselves trapped in self-extended disables.
